I may have to move house in the near future! This may affect some appointments!
Please contact me at glo_with_ro@hotmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes. I have public liability insurance through Salon Gold. If you wish to see a copy of my insurance certificate, please ask.
I have completed the isoclean Hygiene Standards for Makeup Professionals course and proudly display my certificate (see gallery). I sanitise all my brushes after every client with IsoClean brush sanitiser and deep clean my brushes weekly with IsoClean soap. All my makeup items are sanitised after use with IsoClean makeup sanitiser and I use disposable applicators where necessary. I also keep my work surfaces and chair cleaned with IsoClean surface cleanser and use hand sanitiser between clients and before starting a makeup consultation if I do not have the option to wash my hands properly.
I make every endeavour to remain Covid safe, I am fully vaccinated and will perform a lateral flow test prior to attending our appointment. I can wear a mask for your appointment if you would like me to. You also have the option to wear a mask during the eye makeup application but obviously this will need to be removed for the skin portion of the makeup.
I will bring a clean headband for each client but you are free to use your own or to opt for hair sectioning clips. If you're having your hair styled, it is a good idea to have the makeup done whilst it is pinned/set.
I am not affiliated with any particular brand so I use a mix of high quality makeup products but the vast majority of my kit is from PLouise. All PLouise products are certified cruelty free with the leaping bunny logo. I also use brands such as Revolution Pro/Makeup Revolution, Charlotte Tilbury, HNB Cosmetics, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Fyne Art Beauty, Daniel Sandler, Made By Mitchell, Pink Honey, Doll Beauty, MAC, Laura Mercier and Cosmic Beauty.
If you would like something specific due to allergies etc, please discuss this with me ahead of your initial appointment.
If your makeup is for a particularly special occasion, I recommend having a trial - especially if I have never done your makeup before. This allows me to work with you to get you the look you want and ensure we use the right products for your skin type and any concerns you have (breakouts, dry skin, oily skin, fine lines etc).
If you opt not to have a trial, the best thing to do is to send me an email with a recent selfie as well as any photos/screenshots you have of the look you want to achieve and provide me with as much information as possible. This allows me to get an idea of your skin tone, eye shape, areas of concern and to see whether the look you want will work for you or whether there are tweaks that need to be made so it really flatters your features. If you want any particular colours, please also let me know - for example, do you prefer certain shades of blush, lipstick etc; do you have a particular outfit colour you are trying to match etc. If you know what shade of foundation and/or concealer you normally wear, letting me know the brand and shade information can help me match the products I have available to me with you more precisely. The more detail you can provide, the better!
Without a trial, you may also need to allow extra time for your appointment so that there is time to change/alter anything you don’t like. This may mean allowing up to an hour and a half for a look that would only take half the time if there had been a trial.
The average trial is around an hour per person.
A Bride's trial is approximately 2 hours. For bridesmaids and other guests, a further hour per person is required. N.B. The times for the wedding day itself will be shorter as all your queries about skincare, products and applications will have been discussed and everything confirmed with the person making the booking after the trial(s).
If a trial is being performed at your home, please allow time and space for me to set up prior to the start of your trial.
No. You are just liable to pay for the trial and any travel charges incurred.
Due to wedding and prom seasons being busy periods, I always ask for a booking fee at to hold your required date in the diary.
This is especially important for wedding and prom bookings when a trial and day of the wedding/prom are required. The deposit allows me to secure your wedding/prom date before booking your trial.
You are more than welcome to book an initial trial as soon as you enquire and then pay the booking fee afterwards but I cannot guarantee your wedding date booking until payment has been made.
Most makeup application appointments take between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on set up time if I'm coming to your home, the style of makeup you are having, time spent discussing what you are wanting to get out of your appointment and any adjustments at the end of the application.
If you're a chatty person, please allow a little extra time! The last thing I want is for you to be late!
Weddings
At your trial, please allow at least 2 hours for the Bride's trial and at least an hour per other bridal party member. After your trial, I will work out the schedule for the wedding day and email this to you. However, a rough estimate for timings is an hour and a half for briday make up and 45 minutes for bridesmaids or guests.
Prom
This can take 45 minutes to an hour depending on your required look. If you want precise timings, please book a trial first.
For group bookings, allow an hour per group member.
All payments must come from whoever confirms the bookings for simplicity's sake. Brides will typically collect payment from their wedding party before final payment is due, i.e. the night before.
I ask that you, and anyone in your party having make up, have clean, makeup-free faces and freshly washed. If you wish to use any particular moisturiser, please ensure you apply this and advise me prior to makeup application that you have already moisturised.
